Abstract

The study of the other must be open to it, similar to studies that are concerned with identity, and this is what was produced - for example, but not limited to - studies of comparative literature, which illuminated many intellectual and cultural trends of a particular environment, represented by the customs and traditions that it takes as a means of communication between its members and groups. And in the book (Akhbar Al-Athkaya’) by Ibn Al-Jawzi, we find that the civilized Arab mind of his time is about to reach an understanding of the necessity of communicating with the other, in order to form a “dual identity” for him, so that coexisting with him sometimes, or dominating and fighting him, and various attempts to obliterate his features At other times. Therefore, images of the ethnic other were formed in this book, and it was (the hostile other), the (the authoritarian other competing for power / the collective self of the Arabs), the (the other controlling the Arab cultural identity), the (the other with dual identity), and the (the other between the constant and transformative in its narrative efficacy).
