Abstract

The current research aims to clarify the relationship between the existence of cybersecurity and the role of cybersecurity in combating cyberattacks, through the following problematic question: What is the role of cybersecurity in protecting the social fabric? Many related questions branched out from the problem, to know cybersecurity in its modern concept and its impact on reducing cyberattacks, and put forward many hypotheses for it. Many objectives were identified, which were represented in reviewing the reality of cyberattacks, identifying their impact on the social fabric, and identifying the importance of cybersecurity in combating cyberattacks. To achieve these objectives, the inductive approach was used, and the importance of the research arose from the modernity of the methods used in the field of piracy, and the resort of various groups to piracy to penetrate the social fabric, and highlighting the importance of cybersecurity in combating electronic terrorist attacks. We reached many results, the most important of which is that our current era is considered the era of digital media, as there is a large spread of professional and non-professional media outlets. Professionalism, and this was followed by the presence of many violations, these violations were due to the nature of this type of media, as it is digital, and therefore can be hacked "digitally", and these attacks increased in all fields, political, economic, social, and especially by terrorist groups seeking to infiltrate societies, and here the need for a security field increased, which is cybersecurity that seeks to combat terrorist attacks targeting members of society, and cybersecurity is considered a necessary need at the present time due to the large number of electronic terrorist attacks, and cybersecurity is considered an independent field that requires specialists in it to be applied correctly and usefully, in addition to the fact that the application of cybersecurity differs from one country to another according to the requirements of each country, and this is what is determined by specialists, and cyber-attacks are more frequent by terrorist groups because of their ability to dismantle the social fabric and change its priorities and circles of affiliation, while it is considered important to ensure the cohesion of society and its survival by each other, especially during times of crises, and terrorist groups exploit cyber-attacks because they ensure concealment and non-appearance Direct publicity, and that cyber-attacks have many forms that may be political, social, economic, cultural, and other attacks, as the researcher identified many recommendations, represented by the necessity of having specializations related to cyber security in university educational institutions, in addition to the necessity of establishing specialized bodies in cyber security topics that work to monitor the activity of electronic terrorist groups and pursue them, as well as the necessity of having international guaranteeing legislation that seeks to unify efforts to control cyber terrorist attacks.
