Abstract

The Qur’an is the miraculous book of God. Its wonders will never run out, and the student will never be able to recognize its strangeness. This book is unique from other books in that each one of its words or vocabulary has its own specificity in use, employment, and significance. Therefore, I decided to study the beautiful names of God in Surat Al-Anfal to analyze and clarify what is contained in this book. The names in the surah have meanings, connotations, and prominent rhetorical revelations through revealing their lexical significance and the individual meaning they carry that is consistent with their general context. Therefore, I have presented an introduction to the name of the surah, the place and reasons for its revelation, and its merit among the surahs in order to explain what surrounds the text and its effect in revealing the meaning. In the first section, I discussed: choosing the beautiful names in the surah due to their precise lexical meaning and morphological form, which gives them a Qur’anic meaning that reveals the secret of their selection and use in a particular context and not another. The Qur’an was revealed in the language of the Arabs, and they understood the meaning of its words, its structure, and its composition. Therefore, the focus in this study was on the connotations and meanings contained in the Most Beautiful Names of God that are linked to the context of the partial text and the verbal clues associated with it within the text, and the context of the total text and what it achieves in terms of completeness of meaning in the second section: through studying the declarative correspondence between these names, and what Related to it are the reasons for the revelation or the circumstances surrounding the text, and the effect of that in directing the meaning, and the third topic: on the significance of the repetition of the Beautiful Names in these verses and the meanings they contain in the information, and the description of the condition of the Muslims, and the condemnation of the characteristics of the polytheists, and other specific connotations for each place of repetition. In which the name is alone or combined with another name of the beautiful names; The Qur’anic miracle in these names is evident in the content relationship of each one of them in light of the Qur’anic use of them in the surah, and the connection of their significance and meanings to the general context in a way that is compatible with the characteristics of the Qur’anic expression in this surah.
