Over the past two decades, the world has witnessed a radical transformation in methods of communication, with social media platforms playing a prominent role in shaping public opinion, transmitting information, and influencing political and social decisions. This development has sparked a wide debate about the role these platforms play in either supporting or threatening democracy. While some view social media as tools for empowerment and enhancing political participation, others see them as instruments of domination and the spread of misinformation. Hence, the importance of this research lies in its attempt to understand this dual role and analyze its various dimensions.
