The research examines the use of masks in literature to represent society's flaws and failures. It examines the psychological, literary, and philosophical dimensions of mask wearing, focusing on motivations like moral ambiguity and social acceptability. Masks are used to depict conflicts between appearance and truth in works like Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde, and Hamlet. The study concludes that masks provide temporary protection but can become a prison, hiding one's true identity and fuelling illusions. Returning to one self and intentions is a brave journey.
