Difficulties of teaching general Arabic language to non-specialized departments in the College of Education for Girls/University of Baghdad from the point of view of instructors and students

Abstract

The current research aims to:Identify the difficulties facing female students of the Colleges of Education for Girls/University of Baghdad in studying the General Arabic Language subject for non-specialization departments from the point of view of the instructors.Identify the difficulties facing female students of the Colleges of Education for Girls/University of Baghdad in studying the General Arabic Language subject for non-specialization departments from the point of view of the students. Identify the suggestions of the instructors and students to address the difficulties in studying the General Arabic Language subject for non-specialization departments. The research included the third phase of the non-specialization departments at the University of Baghdad/College of Education for Girls. The sample consisted of (10) lecturers and (266) female students distributed among those departments. Using Pearson’s correlation coefficient, weighted mean, percentage weight, and percentage as statistical and computational means, the researcher reached the results of her research, which are that the Quranic Sciences Department in the lecturers’ questionnaire obtained the first rank, which is the highest degree of severity, reaching (4) with a percentage weight of (100%), while the (Computer) Department obtained the lowest degree of severity, which is (2.4) with a percentage weight of (60%). As for the female students’ questionnaire, the (Quranic Sciences) Department also obtained the first rank with a degree of severity of (1.637) with a percentage weight of (87.65%), while the Computer Department obtained a degree of severity of (1.499) with a percentage weight of (74.89%). In light of the research results, the researcher suggested that lecturers and female students should be informed of the College of Education for Girls/University of Baghdad on the objectives of teaching the General Arabic Language, and interest in preparing specialists in teaching the General Arabic Language for non-specialized departments), that were mentioned in Chapter Four.
