Abstract

One of the tasks of research is the Qur’anic directives and their role in building humanity, which is of great importance in helping him live in safety and peace. The research dealt with the Qur’anic directives in the environment and its role in human construction, the architecture of the earth, and the preservation of wealth, which is the source of human strength. Our Great Qur’an contains many verses that talk about the role of the environment in sustainable development, some of which relate directly to the individual, and some of which deal with sustainable environmental development and renewable energies. These directives were approved by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, and the research aims to establish the legal foundation of the concept of sustainable development from the Holy Qur’an and clarify its place in Islam, according to the objective approach and interpretation of the verses and clarify the meaning of God Almighty by referring to the words of the great commentators, and correcting the prevailing belief among some, that Progress, civilization, and sustainable development is a Western thought that has nothing to do with Islam, and it is a thought alien to Islam, and studying the extent to which the Islamic religion supports the concepts of sustainability and their applications to the individual and society, and responding to those who doubt the validity of this religion for every time and place, and the role of development, so the title of the research was: (Environment And its role in sustainable development in the Holy Qur’an - an objective study.
