Abstract

The randomness of coaches' selection of their players by relying on subjective judgments and the lack of use of objective tests in selecting novice volleyball players in the Middle Euphrates governorates and relying on personal experience and self-evaluation in selecting players and not relying on objective evaluation based on accurate scientific foundations, in addition to the scarcity of studies related to evaluating this age group, which prompted researchers to (evaluate the most important mental and skill determinants as indicators for selecting players in schools specialized in volleyball at the ages of (10-12) years), in order to help coaches select players scientifically and in the right direction in a manner that suits their abilities and capabilities that help them in practicing the game, thus being a new and good way to select sports talents in the future, and the most important goals are to determine degrees and levels of mental and skill determinants among players in schools specialized in volleyball at the ages of (10-12) years in the Middle Euphrates governorates. Evaluating the most important mental and skill determinants as an indicator for selecting volleyball players at the ages of (10-12) years in the Middle Euphrates governorates. The method used was descriptive and the population was the players of specialized schools in the Middle Euphrates region. The most important conclusions were to reach the development of standards and determine the standard levels for indicators of mental and skill determinants as a means of evaluation and interpretation that can be relied upon in evaluating specialized volleyball players aged (10-12) years in the Middle Euphrates governorates. The most important recommendations: Adopting the attention and mental imagery methods scales in testing and measuring the most important mental determinants index for players in specialized volleyball schools (10-12) years in the Middle Euphrates governorates. The possibility of using the measurement by researchers and specialists as a research tool in their studies related to the ages (10-12) years.
