This research deals with the opinion of grammarians who disagreed with Al-Khalil ibn Ahmad Al-Farahidi in diminutives. The reason for choosing the topic was the scientific status of Al-Khalil ibn Ahmad Al-Farahidi and his great role in serving the Arabic language, as the disagreement with his opinion aroused research and discussion. The research relied on the descriptive analytical method, by tracking the opinions of grammarians in grammatical texts and comparing them with what Al-Khalil went to, and analyzing those texts based on the inductive method. This research concluded that Al-Khalil ibn Ahmad Al-Farahidi distinguished between the diminutive and the attributed noun, considering diminutives as indicating smallness, and attribution as indicating abundance. This made some grammarians disagree with him, considering diminutives and attribution as one thing. The research also concluded that Al-Khalil sees that the diminutive noun raises an implicit hidden subject, whose apparent meaning is an answer to the transformation of the genitive case mark on an interrogative specification.
