Abstract
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon the best of messengers, his family, and all his companions. This research examines the hadiths that the esteemed hadith scholar Muhammad Siddiq Khan criticized in his book Nayl al-Maram fi Tafsir Ayat al-Ahkam by classifying their narrators as abandoned (matrouk). The study consists of an introduction, three main chapters, and a conclusion. Introduction: Discusses the research problem, study scope, previous studies, research objectives, methodology, and research structure. Chapter One: The life of the eminent scholar Abu al-Tayyib Muhammad Siddiq Khan al-Qanuji and his book of tafsir, including: Section One: His name, lineage, upbringing, and death. Section Two: His life and scholarly contributions. Section Three: His status among scholars. Section Four: His expertise in the science of hadith. Section Five: His methodology in compiling Nayl al-Maram fi Tafsir Ayat al-Ahkam. Chapter Two: Definition of abandoned (matrouk) hadith and the ruling on using it as evidence, including: Section One: Definition of matrouk hadith. Section Two: The ruling on using matrouk narrations as evidence. Chapter Three: A study of the hadiths that Muhammad Siddiq Khan criticized in Nayl al-Maram fi Tafsir Ayat al-Ahkam by classifying their narrators as matrouk. In conclusion, all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
